General Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Mr. Bettag. Present were Directors Mr. Bettag, Mr. Schloss and Mr. Meyer, Chief Svetanics and Ms. Vincent. There were no citizens present.
Motion by Mr. Meyer to accept the agenda as presented 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call vote Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Meyer aye.
Mr. Bettag reported that the financial reports were being tabled to October 25, the next general meeting.
Motion by Mr. Schloss to table the minutes to October 25, the bill paying meeting, 2nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call vote, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Meyer aye.
Chief Svetanics reported that the first floor kitchen and the engine room needed electrical upgrades since the circuits kept tripping at the open house. Chief Svetanics reported that out of three bids, Byrne Electric was the most reasonable, at a total bid of $3,905. Chief Svetanics also reported that we received three bids for the installation of a new shower in the basement.
Motion by Mr. Schloss to accept the electrical bid from Byrne Electric for the amount of $3,905, 2nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call vote, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Meyer aye.
Motion by Mr. Meyer to accept the bid from Bieg Plumbing to install a shower stall in the amount of $2,850.00, 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call vote, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Meyer aye.
Discussions on promotions to deputy chiefs and a new electrical message board are to be tabled to next meeting.
Chief Svetanics reported that the new furnace installations are completed.
The monthly reports, 7.11 to 7.23, are to be tabled to next week’s scheduled meeting

The Board of Directors, Chief Svetanics and Ms. Vincent proceeded to the training room for the promotion ceremony. Present were Lt. Brian Heidbreder’s wife and children, Kim, Bailey and Madisan Heidbreder, his parents, Dick and Ginny Hart, Captain Schuessel, Captain Bertelsmeier, Lt. Glover, Lt. Michalski, Lt. Lewellen and Pvts. Steve Christeson, Chris Taylor, Johnny Lewellen, Steve Krull, Ryan Koebel and Jaime Wood.
Lt. Heidbreder led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Chief Svetanics performed the swearing in of Captain Brian Heidbreder by reading the Oath of Office.
Captain Heidbreder thanked all who attended the ceremony, everyone he works with, his wife and family, and a special thanks to Captain Joe Schuessel, who taught him everything. Congratulations from Captains Schuessel and Bertelsmeier. A cake and coffee reception followed at 7:27 p.m.
