            General board meeting called to order at 3:08 p.m. by Chairman Jerry Schloss.  Present were Directors Mr. Schloss, Mr. Bettag and Mr. Meyer, Chief Svetanics and Ms. Vincent.  Also present was District Accountant, Joe Schnieders.  There were no citizens from the district present. 

            Motion by Mr. Bettag to accept the agenda as presented, 2^nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call vote Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Meyer aye. 

            Chief Svetanics stated that he had a discussion with other Chief’s who are members of South County Fire Alarm regarding their memberships.

            Joe Schnieders joined meeting at 3:25 p.m.  Mr. Schnieders provided the Board of Directors and Chief Svetanics and Ms. Vincent copies of the draft tax rates for 2008.

            The Board and Mr. Schnieders discussed and reviewed the draft tax rate forms.

            The Board chose to schedule the Tax Rate Hearing on the same day as a previously scheduled general meeting, August 19, 2008 at 3:00 p.m.

            Motion by Mr. Bettag to adjourn the general meeting at 4:18 p.m., 2^nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call vote Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Meyer aye.
