General Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Mr. Bettag. Present were Directors Mr. Bettag, Mr. Schloss and Mr. Meyer, Ms. Vincent and one Citizen from the District, Mr. Coll.

The purpose of this meeting was twofold, to discuss and approve tax rates and review and sign monthly bills.

Motion by Mr. Schloss to approve agenda as presented, 2nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call votes, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye.

Motion by Mr. Bettag to dispose of the reading of the Resolution Fixing Tax Rates for Fiscal 2006, 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call votes, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye.

Mr. Meyer stated the Notice of Public Hearing for Tax Rates was published on the District web site and in the Suburban Journal, and displayed on the District message board and posted on the front door of the Firehouse and at area businesses.

Mr. Schloss proceeded to read the proposed tax rates. Mr. Schloss reported that the total blended tax rate for calendar year 2006 is $1.2320 per $100.00 dollars of real and personal property. That is a decrease of .03 in taxes from last year because the bond issue on the building was paid off at the beginning of this year. Mr. Schloss stated that the District’s decrease in tax rate last year amounted to 17.5 cents. Mr. Schloss reported that the blended rates have four different breakdowns between categories: Residential, Agricultural, Commercial and Personal Property. The blended rates are: General Fund, 0.8900; Pension Fund, 0.0900; Central Dispatch Fund, 0.0450; Ambulance Fund, 0.2070; and Debt Service is 0.00. Mr. Schloss noted that these rates are subject to change if the State Auditor’s Office makes corrections in our calculations.

Motion by Mr. Schloss to adopt the Resolution of the Board of Directors of Lemay Fire Protection District of St. Louis County Fixing Tax Rates for Fiscal 2006, 2nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call votes, Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Meyer aye.
