General Board Meeting called to order by Chairman Mr. Meyer at 3:30 p.m. Present were Directors Mr. Meyer, Mr. Schloss and Mr. Bettag, Chief Svetanics and Ms. Vincent. There were no citizens of the District present.
Motion by Mr. Meyer to accept the agenda as presented, 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call vote, Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Bettag aye.
Motion by Mr. Bettag to accept the minutes of the general sessions of August 17, 2010 and August 24, 2010 as presented, 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call vote, Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Bettag aye.
Mr. Meyer stated that the treasurer’s report for the month ending August 31, 2010 will not be submitted until the next meeting on September 21, 2010.
Mr. Bettag stated that actual expenditures at the end of July stand at $1,898.938 or at
Chief Svetanics reported that we are going to have to replace one of the air-conditioners after having a repairman inspect them. It is one of the original ones that we had not yet replaced.
Chief Svetanics also reported that since all the underground tank removal is finally completed, we are scheduled to have the parking lots sealed and striped this week.
Chief Svetanics reported that we took part in the Great Fire Engine Rally held in downtown St. Louis at the Arch on September 11, 2010, and that it went well.
Chief Svetanics reported that he will attend a Benefit Car Show and Bar-B-Que honoring Marine Corporal Todd Nicely on Friday, September 24, and Saturday September 25 at Faith Lutheran Church on Telegraph Road in Oakville, per the request of Firefighters Local 1889. All proceeds to benefit Corporal Nicely and his family. Firefighter’s Local asked Chief Svetanics to bring a fire truck to the benefit. Chief Svetanics will present a fire helmet to Corporal Nicely.
Chief Svetanics and the Board discussed the District’s 8th Open House to be held on October 9, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We will be having free flu shots and a Red Cross Blood Drive again this year.

Monthly reports presented on training by each crew member, maintenance report, fire incident report and summary, ambulance statistics, ambulance monthly lockbox report and MediClaims report, public relations report, community services report, wage report.
Scheduling of next general meetings for October was set at the last meeting. They will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. and the general bill paying meeting to be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 3:30 p.m.
