General Board Meeting called to order by Chairman Mr. Meyer at 3:30 p.m. Present were Directors Mr. Meyer, Mr. Schloss and Mr. Bettag, Chief Svetanics and Ms. Vincent. There were no citizens of the District present.
Motion by Mr. Schloss to accept the agenda as presented, 2nd by Mr. Bettag, roll call vote, Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Bettag aye.
Motion by Mr. Bettag to accept the minutes from the general sessions of August 4, 2009, August 11, 2009 and the regular/executive sessions of August 25, 2009 and August 27, 2009 as presented, 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call vote Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Bettag aye.
Mr. Bettag gave the treasurer’s report for the month ending August 31, 2009. Mr. Bettag reported that delinquent tax revenue received from St. Louis County Department of Revenue was $10,869.91 for the month of August. Mr. Bettag also reported that revenue collected through the lockbox in August was $23,572.69, which is just over budget for the month. Total revenues collected are over budget for August due to delinquent taxes and other income such as building permits, but interest income is down $28,754 from last year.
Mr. Bettag stated that actual expenditures for the end of August are at 64.3%, just under budget for the eighth month of the year set at 66.7%.

Chief Svetanics reported that we are getting ready for the Open House which is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The District is providing the 300 flu shots this year, but we are still looking for donors to help with the expense.
Chief Svetanics also stated that we are again hosting the Red Cross Blood Drive along with the Open House and we are looking for donors for this worthy cause.
Chief Svetanics reported that we received only one bid for the pick-up truck we advertised for and will open the bid later in the meeting.

The Board of Directors recognized the arrival of John Antone and Michele Gouch, representatives of Hawk iSolutions Group, Inc., the District’s IP team, at 3:45 p.m.
Mrs. Gouch made a presentation on replacement of the server since we are having serious C Drive issues and that the server is 5 years old. Option 1 is replacement at a cost of less than $8,000. Option 2 would extend the hardware warranty with HP for one year at a cost of around $175.
Motion by Mr. Schloss to accept Option 2 as proposed by Mrs. Gouch of Hawk iSolutions Group, Inc. to extend the warranty with HP for one year at a price of $175.00, 2nd by Mr. Bettag, roll call vote Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye, Mr. Bettag aye. Mr. Antone and Mrs. Gouch left meeting at 4:10 p.m.
The Board of Directors addressed the St. Louis County Post Board of Equalization Assessed Valuations received from St. Louis County Department of Revenue just before the meeting. The Board asked Ms. Vincent to fax a copy to District Accountant Joe Schnieders.
Monthly reports presented on training by each crew member, maintenance report, fire incident report and summary, ambulance statistics, ambulance monthly lockbox report and MediClaims report, community services report, wage report, South County Fire Alarm Association’s Report and a Certified Letter from Susan Montee’s Office with the State of Missouri.
The District received one bid for a new pick-up truck from Dave Sinclair Ford. The bid proposed a truck to match the requested specs for $34,856. The three additional add-ons would be an additional $1,296. The Board of Directors decided to vote on the bid at the next meeting set for Tuesday, September 22, 2009.
Next general meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. The regular open meeting for bill discussion will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at 3:30 p.m.
